D.O.E. C.I.G.A.P.O.M. stands for “Deliver On Emotions”, “Can I Get A Piece Of Mind”. This acronym illustrates Doe Cigapom’s mission to shed light on the healing powers of music. Through difficult life experiences, music has been his remedy in his pursuit of peace of mind.
Doe was born and raised in Washington, D.C. at a time when our nation’s capital was undergoing historic struggles. This had a direct impact on his upbringing. “But there was always music”, Doe emphasizes, referring to his main source of solace.
As a child, Doe became mesmerized by the drums during a church service he attended with his mother, prompting him to pursue teaching himself and later becoming one of the most preeminent timbales and conga players in go-go bands while still a teenager.
After college, Doe’s interests gradually began shifting more towards the hip-hop sound, which combined his rhythmic abilities with his love for poetry. He began rapping at venues, using this as a platform for confronting painful past experiences, giving him a new lease on life.
Doe currently resides in Dallas, TX and continues to pursue a career in hip-hop music.
